I graduated from University of Cape Town, South Africa 1987, completing my basic surgical and ENT specialist training at Groote Schuur hospital, Cape Town in 1996, with further ENT training in Liverpool 1997 – 1999. I commenced my current post as an ENT, Head & Neck Consultant Surgeon in Harley Streets, September 1999. During this time I have had various leadership roles including: Director of Postgraduate Education June 2005 to September 2011; Associate Clinical Sub Dean (Undergraduate Education) & Honorary Associate Professor May 2011 to June 2017; Clinical Director for ENT April 2016 to April 2019. I remain involved in the teaching & training of undergraduate medical students and postgraduate doctors at all levels. I am interested in clinical research and audit, currently principle investigator in two national clinical trials. I set up databases to monitor clinical outcomes of a range of head & neck surgical procedures within the department.

    Head and neck tumours (benign and malignant). Within head & neck surgery special interest is Transoral Laser Resection of Mucosal head and neck tumours (larynx, hypopharynx) and Transoral Robotic assisted resection of tumours of the throat. Salivary Gland disorders Swallowing disorders Rhinology (functional nasal disorders)
