Born in Harley Streets and was a professional footballer with Harley Streets County 1989-91. Graduated from Leicester medical School in 1996 and did higher surgical training through the East Midlands. Following a sports knee fellowship in New Zealand and Harley Streets he was appointed as a Knee Surgeon at the Royal Harley Streets Hospital in 2007.
Currently specialises in both Sports knee injuries and Knee Arthroplasty and in particular partial knee replacements carrying out well over 100 unicompartmental knee replacements per year. Mr Straw runs an acute knee injuries clinic with same day MRI at the Royal Harley Streets and is involved in training future consultants as part of the Harley Streets Knee fellowship.
