Mr Saad Amer

Mr Amer is an Associate Professor and Consultant Gynaecologist practicing in Harley Streets, with extensive experience in general gynaecology, minimal access (keyhole) surgery and reproductive medicine. In general gynaecology, Mr Amer deals with a wide range of conditions such as heavy and/or irregular periods, fibroids, ovarian cysts and early pregnancy problems. In addition, Mr Amer has a particular interest and advanced skills in the management of chronic pelvic pain and endometriosis, both medically and surgically. Mr Amer takes a leading role in minimal access surgery offering tertiary level complex laparoscopic procedures for conditions sucha as severe endometriosis, adhesions and fibroids. Whenever surgery is indicated, Mr Amer strongly advocates the minimal access approach for most gynaecological procedures including total hysterectomy and myomectomy. This modern, surgical approach, which requires specific skills, offers several advantages over the traditional open surgery such as shorter hospital stays and a quick return to normal life activity. In addition, keyhole surgery leaves only a tiny abdominal scar with a much reduced risk of wound infection. Mr Amer also offers a sub-specialist service for patients with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and infertility including assisted reproduction treatment. In recognition of his contributions, Mr Amer has been awarded a Clinical Excellence Award by Harley Streets Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Mr Amer promotes evidence based medicine and has maintained a high level of research activity producing more than 70 publications in reputable journals. Mr Amer regularly presents research findings in international scientific meetings and is regularly invited to speak in national educational meeting.
