Marcus qualified as a physiotherapist from the University of Manchester in 2001. After initially working in Worcester he moved to Harley Streets in 2003 and subsequently completed a MSc in physiotherapy from the University of Nottingham. He also has qualifications allowing him to prescribe medication and perform steroid injections. Marcus has worked as a specialist in the Harley Streets Shoulder Unit since 2007 and only treats patients with upper limb conditions, most commonly affecting the shoulder. He has a particular interest in shoulder instability and developed the Harley Streets Shoulder Instability Rehabilitation Programme specifically to help patients whose shoulders dislocate. This is now widely used in the UK and overseas. He has a keen research interest and published 30 journal papers and two book chapters. In 2018 he was awarded the British Elbow & Shoulder Society’s highest award, the Copeland Fellowship and has recently been awarded a Doctoral Fellowship by the National Institute for Health Research. Marcus also teaches on training courses and conferences for physiotherapists and doctors both nationally and internationally.
